Decks & Deck BuildingEdit. This page takes a lot of information form Blanks' Beginner Deck Building Guide forum thread from the original Mabinogi Duel Forum.
PC REBOOT:What is Mabinogi Duel?Mabinogi Duel is a mobile TCG (Trading Card Game) developed by devCAT, and published by Nexon. The game ties in to official Mabinogi lore and involves collecting cards and using them in a deck of twelve to battle against both AI and other players.SUBREDDIT CHAT§1 Remember to follow.§2 All LINK posts should be directly relevant to the TCG Mabinogi Duel. Hello, everyone. I've been 'lurking' in the arena page for a while and found many cheap Top 10 decks.
I'm still beginner myself, so I'd like to share my findings and hopefully, it'll also help other fellow beginners. The decks that I shared here has NO MUTANTS and NO EXPENSIVE CARDS at all and you can get the cards pretty much easily from the shops. It is so cheap (each decks cost pretty much less than 50.000 gold!) that I cannot believe these decks actually in Top 10! All the decks here are of the tempo or aggro-type (CMIIW) and it's basically the 'standard' powerful deck out there.Remember, 'Practice Makes Perfect'Enjoy!.Mana - Nature - Light:(Rank 2, Round 101).Gold - Nature - Dark:(Rank 8, Round 101).Gold - Light - Dark:(Rank 6, Round 101).Mana - Nature - Dark:(Rank 4, Round 93),(Rank 10, Round 85).Nature - Light - Dark:(Rank 10, Round 66),(Rank 3, Round 53). Wow that's really cool. Now if only I had even 50k gold, lol.Should I just sell random stuff to the card exchanger? Because honestly, there is no way I could find out which cards I could sell in a shop and with few gems I can't just randomly try either:(I assume noone would buy crappy ultimate spells?
I just got a Ultimate: Reversal of Time (G1) 4 star thatsall shiny and that I could sell to the merchant for 1798. X)Really just feel so helpless. It's already pretty bad to try and find a card I want - for Instance one of the decks in your post runs Counterspell which I've found 2 listings in 30 or so sales at 8k and 10k. Also what is the meaning of -1 cards? (+1's seem to start at level 2 even if your character is still level1?).Sorry, I know that isn't really what this topic is about, but I just feel so helpless and the game IS fun and looks cool.Heck, maybe someone here would be willing to sell some of those cards? Currently only got 8k, but could sell some stuff and farm a while:p.
Hi there,Welcome to Mabinogi Duel!It is a really fun game and it is sooo much easier to get cards (and good ones) without paying any real money in this game than any other f2p trading card game I have ever tried. I would be happy to give you a few tips, though there are a few users that are probably a bit more qualified to go into details than I am.First of all, don't ever sell cards to the card exchanger. Unless you have 6+ copies of a card that will literally never sell (I have been told that if the card exchanger will buy the card for less than 100, it probably will not sell).Second of all, it is worth putting Ultimates up in a shop. Their typical price is 20,000 but you're right they probably won't be bought at that price.
If you try for a heavy discount like 10k, it might get sold though! I mean, heck, if you have a shop then why let them sit around in your inventory?.Keep in mind, however, that the shop key you purchase for 10 gems only keeps the shop up for a few days to a week (I forget exactly how long). After that, only people on your friendslist can buy from it unless you buy another shop license.Completing the two Hard Mode dailies will give you enough to keep buying new shop licenses, and if you do them every day, then you'll still be making profits. No need to buy a new shop license more than once very 2-3 days.
Also, obviously no reason to buy a new shop license if you don't have anything to sell, so may as well wait until you have more than one or two cards that you think have a decent chance of selling. In terms of what to sell and for how much, your best bet is to keep an eye on the shops and see what other people are selling, and offer the same cards- for a cheaper price if you can. Other than that, has advised me that the higher price the card exchanger offers you, the better chance a card has of selling (and also the higher price you can probably sell it for). To know how much you can sell something for, there is no easy technique.
Just gotta keep an eye on the other stores, I believe.Next, you asked about Mutants. Mutants are cards that have been changed from their original form. This can be a change in resource type, a +1, a -1, or a combination of the first option with one of the last two (Lord Farkka Gold +1 for example, when he is normally black).+1 not only starts a card at level 2, but it gives the option for the card to be used as a level 4 card, when you are level 3 in a match!.-1 means that the card cannot be used until you are level 2 in a match, and it has no level 3 form. This is obviously not a good thing for the most part, but there are exceptions.
For one thing it means that the card will always be cheaper to cast - when you are at levels 2 or 3- than it normally would be. Also some cards are mostly useful for their spawn or death abilities. In the case of spawn abilities, it obviously does not matter if the card has less hp or less attack so the '-1' may not be a big problem (you may even prefer the cheaper resource cost). In the case of death abilities, the creature's lower hp is actually an advantage (and the cheaper resource cost is an added bonus).
Example of -1 mutants that are actually preferred to the normal versions include (probably the best -1 card), as well as, and to a lesser degree. Finally, if you have just started, I would not neccesarily recommend going for the PVP arena just yet. Start out with the Rookie and Draft Arenas. If you can get a deck to platinum or even gold (heck, even silver which is not that hard at all) then you will start making gems much faster. If you are looking for some of these basic cards, let me know what you are looking for.
I may be able to help you out and sell you some for cheaps:) I know it is not always easy to get a good deck going at the beginning of the game.Hope this helps!Anybody feel free to correct any errors I may have made. Whew, that helps a lot actually, thank you!:3I guess I'll try setting up a shop then. Glad I could help! Let me make a few additional statements based on your new observations.Let me get my most urgent suggestion out there first: RONA IS ACTUALLY A GREAT CARD. If you only have one, I suggest holding onto it. If you have more than one, it is up to you if you think you might want to use her in more than one deck. If you have three - or especially if you have 4+ - then yeah, you may want to sell it.
But it actually sells for a good price. I cannot exactly remember honestly. I just remember seeing them for a good price. I think it was somewhere between 15k and 30k (big range, I know. I just don't remember. I only remember noticing that it sold for a decent price). And the fact that you don't see many of them in stores is probably because they get sold fast, because I know I've seen a couple.
Edit: It sounds like maybe you were actually trying to buy her and not sell her? If that's the case, see the bottom of this comment.Mercenary for 4k is a pretty good buy, I definitely haven't seen them in the shop. It's a pretty common card, so people probably figure it won't sell.
But if you don't have one, then 4k is a great price to pick it up for:).Grand Banquet -1, like you said, was given to everyone for free who completed the Event quest. So definitely don't try and sell it right now. Wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months from now. People who missed this event will be much more interested in buying it. The exchanger just puts it at 5k because it is a mutant. The shop code sort of has two purposes:.It will tell you if your shop is still showing up on the board for all players to see. If you go to your shop and you don't see the shop code next to the name of your shop, that means your license has expired and only people on your friends list will see your shop (by clicking your name in their friendlist).More importantly, you can give this code to people who aren't on your friendlist for them to be able to access your shop (as long as the code is still valid- see previous point).Congrats on your 100k sale! I honestly have no idea how much Boomerang +1 is worth.
100k was probably a good bet, though. You MAY have gotten more, but I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, 100k was a great guess and it's fantastic that you now have so much moneys to spend:D.This reminds me of something I forgot to mention about shops before.
A great rule of thumb is to start high and then lower the price of things that don't sell. Personally, I don't blame you for going with 100k on that Boomerang +1, I would have been afraid to start higher (lol) but you probably could have. Now, onto making a deck!.Keep in mind that the original post that we are commenting on is for PVP decks! As I said, you should probably stick with the other Arenas until you get more comfortable with playing, what is called the META, and your own deck-building ability. I pretty much always get gold or platinum in the Rookie Arena now but I still struggle in the PVP Arena - though with help from people in this forum, I have been improving:D.Your idea for a deck is a good start, but I can tell you are basing it off of PVP decks rather than PVG decks. Particularly Counter Spell. The opposite of PVP in Mabinogi Duel is PVG, which means Player versus Ghost.
If you aren't familiar, the basic idea here is that you are playing the 'ghost' of other players in the Arena. Meaning you are playing against their decks, but controlled by an AI. This is important because it also means your deck will be controlled by an AI.You get a max of 10 games per day in most Arenas, but most platinum decks have well over the number of points you could get for getting a 10-win streak!
How is that possible? Well it's because their ghost has won some games. How do you ensure your ghost wins games? Well there are several things you can do:.First of all, higher win-streaks give bonuses to your ghost (mainly, it will start with more resources at the beginning of a game).Other than that, different players have different strategies. Some get their win-streak first thing in the morning (or stay up late to get it when the Arena opens), others will wait for a while for their 0-win deck to get some ghost victories, because 0-win decks are more likely to be pitted against weak players who don't know how to play the game yet.
Personally, I like to combine the two: I let my deck go most of the FIRST day of the Arena before I get my win-streak near the end of the day, and then I try to get my win-streak early on the second day.The most important thing is to register your deck as soon as you can. That way, even if you don't have time to play until later, you may get a few ghost victories in the meantime:).Actually, there is one thing even more important than that. You want to build a deck that is easy for the AI to use.
Cards that have special tricks to them, involve special placement, or require prediction of what your opponent will do are practically useless in all PVG arenas, because your ghost will fail to use them correctly. This is why I would suggest not using Counter Spell. It is a fantastic card in PVP, but useless in PVG.In terms of win-streak, it is usually recommended that you go for at least a 6/4 split.
If you have at least a little confidence that you can win 7, I would say go for 7/3 or even 8/2. These days, I always go for a 10-win streak, though, as you have to be REALLY lucky to get into Platinum without two 10-win streaks. Two 7/3 splits splits should get you into Gold though:) (6/4s can as well if you get a ghost victory or two).Other than that, you have some great ideas. Hunt, Surprise Attack, and Capture are three very very common cards in both PVG and PVP.
Hoard the crap out of those cards whenever you get them. I have 5 or 6 Surprise attacks, 4 Hunt Cards, and 3 Capture cards. I will not be selling any of them, and I still want more Hunt and Capture cards! (Because I have a bunch of decks that I like to use at the same time in different Arenas and many of them use those cards). In PVG, these cards are especially important for dealing with the high resources that the your opponent will start with. As you get higher winstreaks, you have to deal not only with ghosts that have higher winstreaks, but the game starts also adding other disadvantages like lowering your Max hp and raising the enemy's Max hp.
So once you get to 5 wins or more, it becomes a bad idea to leave an enemy creature in a position to get hits on you in the beginning of the match (with some exceptions of course). Cards like Hunt and Surprise Attack become vital for taking out the medium creatures that your opponent can throw out in the first few turns of the game without using all of your resources.Elf is a great card, and while having two of them isn't a terrible idea, your deck will likely benefit from having a strong finisher.
Mercenary is a good medium-creature. But you are going to want a strong finisher for PVG, I think. On that note, prepare yourself! Made an AMAZING post for new players who are trying to get a hang of making good PVG decks. Get yourself over to and scroll down to 's beautiful comment. I seriously struggled at getting anything more than Silver in Rookie Arena until I got help from that beautiful post from that beautiful user XD.When you look at that post, in addition to other realizations, you will see what I was about to suggest: you are probably going to want an AOE removal spell. Trap in the Castle is a popular choice because it is does not cost many resources (the trade off is that it is not instantaneous, you have to wait for the opponent creatures to attack the traps you set). Holy Spear is also extremely popular (but of course, you also will destroy any creatures that you have placed on the battlefield).
![Mabinogi duel card list Mabinogi duel card list](http://tradingcardgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Order-Chaos-Duels13.png)
Since you are using blue mana, there are a lot of other good choices which just cost more resources.Lastly, I have a pretty fat collection of cards and I may be able to help you out! Of the cards you listed at the end of your comment (Imp, Counter Spell, Phantom of the Wolf, and Capture) I am afraid I can only sell you Imp. But I can sell you Imp!!If you are looking for Rona, I could potentially sell her to you as well.I have more thoughts on things I could sell you but I have used up my character-count for this post! So I'll add another reply below this one. If you don't have any particularly decent strong finishers, I could sell you some.
For example, I can sell you or - both kind of unusual choices for finishers honestly, but Holy Machine: Unit 2 is the finisher in my main PVG deck which gets Platinum whenever I put proper effort into playing.I wish I could sell you Persona: Skathach, because everyone loves her but I only have one:(. Quick tip, though, for when you get Capture.
When playing in the PVG Arena, if you notice that your opponent's deck is named Persona: Skathach, start saving up your green resources. Capturing a Skathach will basically win you the match.
Trust me on that one;)My collection of strong finishers is not that great- especially in the Blue, White, and Green resoruces. I do have a lot of big creatures I can offer you, though, if you need them. I also some good AOE removal spells I could sell you like,. And I have some spare s as well!
It doesn't do as much damage, but it does quite a bit at levels 2 and 3, and it doesn't cost that many resources. If you were to use either of the cocoon cards, this spell would become pretty incredible. In terms of big creatures (as TheArcadean suggests), I have too many to name off the top of my head.
If you are looking for some, though, shoot me a PM and I might have something good for you:)Sorry for the enormous wall(s) of text!. Thats a ton of info, lol.Allright, so I'll try to go through it:DFrist of all, yes I'm currently more interested in PvG anyway, I just didn't find any ressources that were as helpful for a noob like this post:p thanks for the info on that though and it makes a lot of sense that some cards suck in this mode:)And yea, I bought a Rona:p she was as cheap as 10k too!As for the 100k sale, yeah I just looked through a ton of shops today and most lower rarity mutants seemed to be sold around 70-100k and since I didn't see any Boomerangs I figured that is probably fairly high. Either way I'm happy - you can do a lot worse as a newbie even if the card would've been worth 200k.I'll see to s post later, will be another response then too I guess. As for Persona: Skathach I figure she's not really in my budged?
I'll be looking out for her in a few minutes though. I'm an absolute anime maniac (aside from fantasy) which is one of the reasons I fell in love with this game instantly. I DL'ed like 15 TCGs on my android when I got it and now I'm left with Mabinogi and Digimon Heroes (which is a lot more of a puzzlegame anyway and I just can play it mindlessly since it's so easy xD).The issue I'm having now is I don't quite know how to balance a deck if I'm not 'netdecking' - like my first deck where I literally never got to play Death Sentence since I had too many darkness minions to ever cast it. This is also my biggest issues with the drafting format, can't beat the hard version (I do beat everything else though).I'm obviously not looking for an absolute beast of a deck, just something that can do reasonably well, is affordable with 140k gold (lol) and big plus if it fulfills my 2 bonus conditions:. anime waifus. no unused cards (which so far I've had in every deck, sigh - balancing ressources etc).So yeah.
If you have any ideas just lmk. It's not like I love the elf deck or anything, that just stems from the OP and being a cheap deck:p I'm also not set on specific colors. I do need at least 1 anime waifu in my deck though, which is why I chose the Rona deck out of the OP (that and I liked counterspell more as an utility card compared to some others).I'm also really not sure what AoE is good.
Though I simply hate traps and such, so I'd prefer something that works out directly:p (for reference this hate comes from assassins in diablo 2 and got even bigger with pesky WoW Arena Hunters. And HS Hunters for that matter). XDOkay, lastly, even though you've already been a HUGE help and put insane effort into this, I'd still like to use your kindness and knowledge a bit more:D so if you'd be willing to point me to a good PvG deck for now I'd be absolutely happy to put all my gold into that. I can always grab Counter Spell and such later on;). Allright, as for the post you linked:.the guidelines there are very helpful, though they do go into a completely different direction than the more agressive approach I've been looking at so far.
How would a decent built look for a more agressive built? From the top of my head I'd probably try to twist it like so:.A: Cheap Removal, small guy, small guy, finisher.B: Cheap removal, small guy, AoE, medium guy.C: Small guy, small guy, medium guy, utilityor something like that? Also what cards are generally called utility? Or what makes a good utility card? I guess Capture counts as an utility/removal hybrid but further down I don't really know what to make of these:)Phew. Thanks again x3. Haha, no problem!
I enjoy talking about this stuff. I think this is honestly my favorite multiplayer iOS game I've ever played (TCG and otherwise).Your idea for an aggressive deck could certainly work if you get the right cards. I think the two cheap removals and the AOE are very important and having at least one or two mediums and a finisher as well.
It may not be a bad idea to replace one of your small guys with a big guy. The problem with having SO many small guys is that they can get taken out really easily.
And if you don't have any spells left, you can't really use any of those small guys to block the enemy. It could work if you use more spells / utility cards, though.I'm honestly not super familiar with utility cards, though. Counter Spell (for PVP) and Capture (which like you said is also a removal) are the ones I use most.
Dig Dug Digging Strike OST (Dig Dug III) Music/Sound by Mikki 1. Comercial Act 1 3. Comercial Act 2 4. Taizo's Trip 5. Title Screen 6. System Menu 7. Opening Cutscene 8. In the 1980's, arcade machines were all the rage. In Dig Dug, protagonist Taizo Hori inflated/blew up enemies with his trusty driller. In the much-anticipated sequel DD: Digging Strike, he returns with a much bigger goal in mind: to sink/collapse the various islands that horde numerous enemies and huge bosses. OST Project #31 Revivals are nothing new, but having a Dig Dug game that combines both elements from its two games? All in the while offering some new content and a plot that's.well, just sort. Dig dug digging strike music. Dig Dug is a Digging Game by Namco, first released as an Arcade Game in 1982. The objective of the game is for your player (initially just named 'Dig Dug', but later changed to Taizo Hori; see Punny Name below) to dig underground and eliminate all of the monsters on each stage using a special pressure pump to inflate them to bursting.
But cards that add attack, defense, and/or HP to your creatures could also be considered utility and would help your small and medium creatures become more viable. There are a lot of examples of such cards. The various altars (Altar of Chaos, Altar of Knowledge, Altar of Abundance, Altar of Enlightenment, and Altar of Darkness) might also be seen as utilities? I love the Altar of Abundance, but I've been warned against using it in Arena because it hogs a lot of resources. I've also been fascinated by the idea of building a deck around the Altar of Enlightenment, but I haven't found a good way to do it yet.
Major problems include the fact that 5 turns is a lot to plan for in advance, it only does it's thing once (I guess that's fair since it is so cheap in resource cost), and while it isn't overly squishy, it doesn't have THAT much hp / armor.Honestly, I haven't built a successful non-standard PVG deck yet, by which I mean one that isn't mostly following TheArcadean's guidelines.Yeah, unfortunately, you probably don't want to buy a Skatha unless you have a crapload of extra money lying around or already have a great idea for a deck that you want to use her in. She is from the CLO collaboration. Collaborations are events that happen every now and then where Mabinogi Duel teams up with an outside artist (usually comic artists, sometimes other games) to create limited edition cards that are sold as special boosters. Once those collaborations end, though, those cards will never be 'reprinted' meaning that you can only buy already-existing ones from other players. This means cards like Skatha are worth a lot of gold.I was super unlucky and never got her or either of the other two most sought-after cards in the CLO collaboration, but I bought her while she was still cheap in the player shops (because the collaboration hadn't ended yet).So would you like to buy an Imp and/or anything else from me?:). Whelp, figured something like that, especially since I didn't spot her at all and I did look through a lot of stores. Then again I mostly skipped everything 6 digit:PI'd be interested in an estimate cost though, simply because then I might just decide to make a cheap deck or two now and farm for her for a month or two:pAs for buying - I'd certainly like to, especially since you can't search for a card on the shop site which makes things ridiculously hard.I've got two issues though:1) Even with s guide I'm not at all confident I can built something that works (for instance what is the difference between 'big' and 'finisher'?:p where does medium start and end?
Small I guess means 1-2 cost probably? Also what kind of AoE would I use?)And the 2nd issue is crafting something that works with my budget. Like I don't mind if its say 220k. That much can I get fairly quickly and just play a few subpar cards or something:p but I have literally zero idea for prices.Honestly, the only thing I know is I'd like a deck that works for gold PvG and has some nice looking characters (oh, and I don't mind fairies and such at all. I'm not much into fan-service, so it doesn't have to be big breasted girls in sexy poses xD more fantasy looking stuff is also sweet). There is no such thing as a card library where I could just browse through cards and see if I find a few that I'd like to 'build around' I assume?Honestly with the vast amount of options I'd be inclined to just netdeck, but that doesn't seem very possible either xdThanks again!. Hahaha I kind of feel bad taking up so much space talking about PVG decks on this really great thread about PVP so perhaps we should move to PMs.That said, I think other people probably have a similar question about creature 'size' so I will say:1) Small creatures' are 1-2 resources at Level 1. (Elf, Skeleton, and Bandit are popular choices)2) Medium creatures are probably 3-5 resources. Barbarian is one of the best options.
Alby Stone Golem is a really great option for green resource. The idea with medium creatures is that they should not be expensive but they should not be easy to kill. Actually, Barbarian can be removed by Hunt and Surprise attack if they do their max damage- but he makes up for it because if they fail, he starts getting a lot stronger very fast. I think the normal Vampire is a pretty common medium creature because he can get a huge amount of hp if you summon him in front of the right enemy. Your Mercenary is a decent option as long as you aren't using gold resources for him to steal. I also like Jellyfish for blue.3) Big Creatures: Probably 4-6 resources.
Some overlap here clearly. But ideally your medium creatures won't cost 5. That's only worth it if they have a very useful ability or otherwise synergize very well with the rest of your deck. Classic example of a big creature would be Mage: 39-Years-Old.
He only costs FOUR at level one actually, so you could classify him as a medium creature. But the amount of hp and damage he does is just ridiculous. As long as no one casts a spell to make his attack 0 (at which point you have to spend resources to remove him yourself or you need to end the game before his special ability takes effect). Some people would actually put Alby Stone Golem as a big creature and they might be right.
Elf Knight CAN be a good option (especially for you actually, since you plan on using a lot of small creatures at once).4) Finishers: This is anything that could end the game with one good hit. Mud Hero: Drass is popular but there are a HUGE number of options I think. I have come to really like Barbarian Queen: Sasha, though either of the Barbarian Hero cards work just as well. Persona: Arisha is a good choice because she is cheap, very hard to remove (esp at level 3), and continues getting stronger at a very fast rate (but again she is CLO and will be very difficult to buy). If you end up using Dark cards, you may want Persona: Mercedes, she would be go very well with your 'lots of cheap creatures' approach.Hope that helps! And I also hope other people come and correct me on this, because I'm not 100% sure I am right about the medium and large creatures.
PM me and let's talk business! And also we can discuss other questions you might have:). Oh, you also said you aren't sure what are good non-trap AOE cards?
I gave you a few examples. People really love Holy Spear. I haven't used it much myself, honestly.
My personal favorite AOE spells are Ice Spear, Flame Wall, and Flame Emission. The latter two require gold, though, and if you decide to start using gold, then your other card-choices will change quite a bit.If you are not attached to green-white-blue, and are more attached to this very aggressive cheap-cost-creature deck idea, then you might want to consider which resources have the most bang-for-your-buck in terms of cheap creatures.Green-Black-Gold could be an option for example, because you'd get all the different skeletons and lizardmen in dark, and there are a lot of choices of 1-2 cost gold creatures.
You would lose Rona, which is a shame, but you could replace her with Black Sheep Pan, who has the same no-grave-cost effect, has worse attack, but costs only 1/2/3 resources, and can be used to block weak to medium creatures with its high hp.Just something to think about.
